Tizian Aellig is a self-taught artist who began creating art in his early thirties during a sabbatical. He initially focused on minimalist line drawings on paper, gradually introducing areas of color and more complex compositions. His practice later expanded to paintings on canvas and sculptures made of steel, reflecting his professional background in metalworking. His craftsmanship remains part of his artistic practice, for example in the frames he makes for his works.

Raised in the small village of Reigoldswil, Tizian now lives and works in Basel. His approach is intuitive, guided by a distinctive visual language of colors and forms. Through carefully balanced compositions, he creates unique harmonies that give his work its own character.
